Kherson police evacuated a mother and her four children from the constantly shelled village of Komyshany. The 40-year-old woman turned to the police after another enemy attack because her children – three girls aged 15 and 12 and a 7-year-old boy – could no longer live in constant fear and hide in the basement.
The policemen worked carefully on the evacuation plan, chose a safe time between shelling and saved the family. They worked with mandatory tools for such situations – personal protective equipment, including bulletproof vests and helmets. An armored vehicle was used for evacuation.
To help the children control themselves in a stressful situation and adapt to their new home, a juvenile prevention worker gave them guardian hares.
Toys for service in the juvenile police and evacuation units “White Angel” are sewn by craftswomen of the silver age and internally displaced persons in 9 centers in different cities of Ukraine, active participants of our foundation project called Grandma’s Hares. And the heroes of this special operation have been the toys
sewn with love and care by ladies from Bashtanka, Mykolaiv region, led by Olha Pryshedko.
